Mr. Franklin Reese, age 74, entered into rest Sunday, January 31, 2010, at his home in Augusta, Georgia. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Rev. Barry Clanton officiating. Interment will follow in the Passworth Family Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Wayne Barrow, David Hicks, William Hayes, Van Patrick, Joshua Reese, Jeremy Reese, Alan Key, Jordon Reese and Billy Reese. A life long resident of Augusta, Frank began a career in the golf car industry in 1957 with E-Z Go Golf Car Company. Responsible for manufacturing and service, as well as, research and development, he experienced the transformation of the golf car industry over his 21 years of service. In 1978, he would follow a dynamic management team that would purchase Club Car, Inc., a then fledgling electric golf car company, from John Mansville Corporation located in Evans, Georgia. Over his next 22 years of service, Frank contributed substantially to the growth of Club Car into the industry leader. He served in various capacities including research and development, product development, sales and service. He retired from Club Car in July of 2000. He then became a partner in Transportation Solutions Of Augusta, LLC; a factory authorized Club Car Dealer located in Evans, Georgia. There he served as Operations Manager and continued to work for 10 additional years until the final days of his illness. His knowledge of the golf car industry is unparalleled. A love of family, a strong will to succeed, and a passion to help others will be Frank's legacy. Frank is survived by his wife Cathy H. Reese and seven children: Steve Reese, Joey Reese (Petra), Tim Reese, Gloria-Missy Reese, Joey Harrell (Delia), Brad Reese (Charlene), Theresa Bertolone (Perry). Thirteen grandchildren: Josh Reese (Kyndra) Alan Key (Michelle), Aaron Key, Jay Harrell (April), Brittany Harrell, Timmy Harrell-Lampp, Jeremy Reese, Billy Reese (Vivianna), Jordan Reese, Hunter Lampp, Kaitlin Reese, Kyle Bertolone, Charlie Broad, and three great grandchildren: Jacob Reese, Nayla Reese and Nevada Key Brother: Bud Reese, Sisters: Maggie Callendar, Nancy Rodgers, Elizabeth Murphey, and Ella Book. He was predeceased by his sons: William Franklin Reese and James Timothy Harrell Reese; parents: Lizzie Elizabeth Reese and John G. Reese; brothers: John Reese Jr. and Herbert Reese; Sisters: Willie Mae Cothern, Mary Book and Anniebelle Faulkner.
