Mr. John G. Reese Sr., 72, of Route 6, Box 324, Old McDuffie Road, Augusta, Georgia, entered into rest at 11:21 p.m. Monday, May 5, 1975, in an Augusta hospital. The funeral will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday in Elliott Sons Funeral Home Lumpkin Road Chapel with the Rev. T. Ray Fowler officiating. Burial will be in Passworth Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Garvin Reese, Bill Finley, Robert Slade, Earl Powell, Harold Fountain and Roy McCaskill. Mr. Reese was a native of Avera, Ga., and had lived in Augusta most of his life. He was a Baptist and a retired mechanic. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Elizabeth C. Reese, Augusta; four sons, John Reese Jr., Monterey, La., Sterling Reese, Franklin Reese and Herbert Reese, Augusta; seven daughters, Mrs. Willie Mae Cothern, Mrs. Mary Book, Mrs. Maggie Callender, Mrs. Nancy Rojas, Mrs. Elizabeth Murphey and Mrs. Annie Belle Foulconer, Augusta, and Mrs. Ella Book, Monterey, La.; his stepmother, Mrs. Vienna Goss, Thomson; one brother, Jerome Reese, Augusta; one sister, Mrs. Siller Hilliard, Bradenton, Fla.
