John "Johnnie" Reese Jr. entered into rest Wednesday, December 19, 1984 in New Era, Louisiana. The funeral will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at Elliott Sons Funeral Home, Lumpkin Road, Augusta, with the Rev. Bill Rice officiating. Burial will be in Passworth Cemetery, Augusta. Pallbearers will be Tyler Lloyd Eidson, Harris Andrews, W.A. Lewis, Luther Gaskill, John Clark and Earl Powell. Mr. Reese lived in Augusta most of his life before moving to Monterey, Louisiana. He was a sandblaster and painter for Oilfield Industries and a Baptist. Survivors include his wife, Alene Book Reese; three sons, Larry Reese, Ricky Reese and John Allen Reese, Monterey; a daughter, Linda King, Augusta; his mother, Elizabeth Chavous Reese, Augusta; three brothers, Sterling Reese, Franklin Reese and Herbert Reese, Augusta; and six sisters, Willie Mae Cothern, Maggie Callender, Nancy Rogers, Elizabeth Murphy and Anna Belle Faulkner, Augusta, and Ella Book, New Era.
