Graveside funeral services will be held in Passworth Cemetery with Pastor Bobby Winkler officiating.
Mrs. Callender was born in Augusta to the late John and Elizabeth Chavous Reese. She was a homemker and a charter member of Southgate Baptist Church for 64 years.
She was preceded in death by her sisters, Willie Mae Cothern, Mary Book, Anne Bell Faulkner and her brothers, Herbert Reese, Frank Reese and Johnny”Junior” Reese.
Survivors include her children, Eloise Young and her husband Russell of N. Augusta, SC and Emmit “EP” Callender of Augusta; brother, Bud Reese of Augusta; sisters, Elizabeth Murphey, Nancy Rogers both of Augusta and Ella Book of Monterey, LA; grandchildren, Robin Hightower, Mary Hayslip, Virginia Callender and Richard Eubanks; great-grandchildren, Maggie Hightower, Anna-Kate Hightower, Ashley Hayslip, Tyler Hayslip and Alaysia Hayslip and numerous nieces and nephews.
