Grace stayed from 1911 until March 1923 with her parents and siblings in or near the former tiny Dutch settlement Cramersburg in the southwestern part of the Canadian south central province Saskatchewan. Her family moved then to the Dutch gardeners settlement Highland, Lak Couny, in the utter northwestern part of Indiana, adjacent to Chicago in Illinois.

Grace Leep (20 y) lived in 1930 in the also Dutch settlement Munster, Lake County, in the utter northwestern part of Indiana as a maid with mr. Joseph G (68 y) and Minnie M (66 y) Ibach.

Grace married on 25 August 1932 to Martin G Elzinga.

Her husband Martin Elzinga of Highland passed away on 27 July 1996 at the age of 87 years. He was survived by [his wife] Grace (nee Leep); one son, Wayne (Babe) Elzinga of Griffith; three daughters, Marilyn Sodo of Cedar Lake, JoAnn Martinez of Highland and Judy (Dr. Marty) Doot of Villa Park, IL.; one brother, Albert "Toots" (Martha)Elzinga of Dyer; sister, Sarah Clouser of Schererville; one sister-in-law, Anne Elzinga of South Holland, IL.; 13 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Friends may visit with the family on Monday, November 12th from 3:00 to 8:00 PM at Kuiper Funeral Home, 9039 Kleinman Rd., Highland, IN. Amazing Grace was a woman whose life reflected her love for God and other's. She volunteered for 20 years with CRWRC. Memorials may be given to them.

GRACE ELZINGA HIGHLAND, IN Grace Elzinga, age 103 of Highland, IN, passed away November 9, 2012. She is survived by her three loving daughters: Jo Ann Martinez, Marilyn Sodo and Judy Doot. She was deeply loved by her 13 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and her sister, Jane Van Willigan. With her in heaven are her dear husband, Marty; and favorite son, Wayne; and her legendary Leep sisters and brothers. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at 10:00 AM at New Life Christian Reformed Church. Burial at Hope Cemetery.
