His parents moved in 1911 from Chicago to Canada and settled in the former tiny Dutch community of Cramersburg, on the prairies in the southwestern part of the southern central Canadian province Saskatchewan, 5 miles south of the river with the same name and about 13 miles north of Abbey. Henry, who died four days after his birth there in October 1914 was twinbrother of James Leep (1914-1997).
