John Meriweather Summoned Suddenly

Is Found in Dead Garden at Home in this City

John Merriweather, 67, for a great many years a highly esteemed resident of this city, died suddenly of heart trouble while at work in his garden at 940 Clinton avenue, Wednesday afternoon at 3:30, his body being found a short time later. Coroner Jas. M. Harcha being called, and pronounced death due to heart attack.

Mr. Merriweather was born in Clinton county and resided there until he was 16 years of age, then coming to this city, where he has since resided.

For years he was a salesman connected with the Ford Hardware Company store in this city, and later was employed at various work.

He was an active member in Grace M. E. Church, by reason of his friendly nature and high integrity, had a very large circle of friends, who with the family, are deeply shocked by his sudden death.

Mr. Merriweather is survived by his two sons, Robert and Carl of this city, and one daughter, Miss Frances, also of this city.

The body was removed to the Klever Funeral Home where it remained until Thursday afternoon, when it was returned to his late home.

Funeral services will be held at the Klever Funeral Home Saturday forenoon at ten o'clock and interment will be made in the Washington Cemetery, with Rev. W. T. Blume in charge.
