Boyd Rex Auman, 91, of Seagrove, died Wednesday, January 13, 2021, at The Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro.

A private funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 19, 2021, at Mt. Calvary Independent Baptist Church, with Pastor Neil Poole officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park with military honors provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard. The service will be livestreamed at Ridge Funeral Home's Official Facebook Page.

Boyd was born on October 23, 1929, in Randolph Co., to the late Pearson Leland Auman and Cletus Freeman Auman. He had lived in Seagrove all his life and retired from Luck's Inc. with over 40 years of service. He served in the US Army during the Korean war and he was a member of Sugg's Creek Primitive Baptist Church. Boyd loved camping, traveling to NASCAR races and watching Braves baseball games.

In addition to his parents, Boyd was preceded in death by his son, Tony Auman; siblings and their spouses, Robert and Ida Auman, Vivian and Paul Hinesley, Mae and James Davis, Virginia and Jesse Phillips, Treece and Lessie Auman, Clarence and Eva Auman, Blanche and D.R. Nall, Harvey Auman, Betty Jean Auman, and R.H. Auman.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Verlene Auman of the home; children and their spouses, Rex and Teresa Auman of Seagrove, Sadie and Tony Vereyken of Level Cross, Joan and Alden Brown of Asheboro; grandchildren, Jason and Charity Auman, Whitney and Matthew Pope, Beth and Chris Trogdon, Kathryn and Luke Gillispie, Shannon and Justin Cain, Darby Vereyken; great grandchildren, Lexi, Lindsey and Josie Auman, Tony and Carter Trogdon, Benjamen, Ethen and Eli Gillispie; siblings and spouses, Franklin and Pat Auman, Lucy Ann Maness, and Betty Auman.

Mr. Auman will lie in state from 1:00 until 4:00 p.m., Monday, January 18, 2021, at Ridge Funeral Home.
