Henry Sandbulte

Henry Sandbulte, 94, of Sioux Center died Sunday, September 18, at Hegg Memorial Health Center in Rock Valley.
Services were at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Carmel Reformed Church in Rock Valley with the Rev. Brad Langstraat officiating. Burial was in the Carmel Cemetery.
Sandbulte was born March 5, 1900, on a farm near Orange City, the son of Johan and Johanna (Loverink) Sandbulte.
At a young age, he moved with his family to a farm in rural Carmel and lived on that farm until moving to Valley Manor in June 1990.
He married Minerva Wesselink February 17, 1921. She preceded him in death.
He was a member of Carmel Reformed Church, where he served as a deacon and was on the building committee.
He was a member of the first board of Sioux Center Hospital and Co-Op Produce.
Survivors include four sons, Bernard and his wife Leona of Luverne, Minnesota, Kenneth and his wife Florence of Rock Valley, Milton of Rock Valley and Delmar and his wife Betty of Sioux Center; six daughters, Mrs. Arnold (Johanna) Punt of Sioux Center, Mrs. Harold (Lois) Van Maanen, Mrs. John (Norma) Boogerd, Mrs. Clarence (Carol) Van Voorst, Mrs. Robert (Muriel) Oostra. all of Hull, and Mrs. Arnold (Henrietta) Van Kley of Rock Valley; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. James (Janice) Sandbulte of Luverne; 73 grandchildren; 159 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by five sons, John, Delmar, Norman, Harvard and James; three brothers; six sisters; four grandchildren; and six greatgrandchildren.
