Henry Clay Cornish, 84, died Thursday, November 12, 1998 at the Beverly Health and Rehabilitation Center in Frankfort. A native of Mercer County, he was the son of the late Henry and Sarah Harley Cornish. He was a retired farmer and construction worker and a member of the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. Survivors include: five sons, Marcus (Brenda) Cornish, Marion, Davis (Lois) Cornish, Jimmy R. Cornish, Earl B. Cornish, Steven E. (Debbie) Cornish, all of Lawrenceburg; two daughters, Mrs. James (Louise) Thompson, Harrodsburg and Mrs. John (Mary Lee) Holbert, Lawrenceburg; one brother, Bruce Cornish, Mt. Washington; two sisters, Mrs. Lillie Taylor, Lawrenceburg and Mrs. Bonnie Devine, SC; 15 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margie Peavler Cornish, one daughter, Bonnie Mae Cornish and a grandson, Marcus Brent Cornish. Funeral services were held Saturday, November 14, at Gash Memorial Chapel with Bro. Terry Stallard officiating. Burial was in Lawrenceburg Cemetery.
