Margie Lee Peavler Cornish, 76, died Thursday, November 21, 1996, at her residence. Born April 3, 1920 in Washington County, she was the daughter of the late James and Mary Alice Farris Peavler. She was a housewife, a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church and attended Tyrone Baptist Church. Survivors include: her husband, Henry Clay Cornish, Anderson County; five sons, Marcus Eugene Cornish, Marion, Davis Clay Cornish, Jimmy Ray Cornish, Earl B. Cornish and Steven Edward Cornish, all of Lawrenceburg; two daughters, Mrs. James (Louise) Thompson, Harrodsburg, and Mrs. John (Mary Lee) Holbert, Lawrenceburg; 15 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Bonnie Mae Cornish and a grandson, Marcus Brent Cornish. Funeral services were held Sunday, November 24, 1996 at Gash Memorial Chapel, Lawrenceburg, with Rev. Terry Stallard officiating. Burial was in Lawrenceburg Cemetery.
