Mrs. Devine, widow of Harold Devine, entered into rest on Wednesday, March 7, 2018. Born in Mercer County, KY, she was a daughter of the late Henry Harrison and Sarah Harley Cornish. Those of us who were blessed to be a part of Bonnie’s life, whether family or friend, can truly say that all who came to know her were family to her. She had many special gifts, one of which was to love unconditionally. She saw no one through their past, their abilities or disabilities, or their station in life. All were welcomed into her home and her life. The same was true of her love of animals. The word seemed to spread quickly on the street among strays and homeless animals. They mysteriously found their way into her life and she took special care to see that they were sheltered, fed, and loved. Bonnie always had a keen eye for design and her creative spirit lives on with many of us. The little gifts she so thoughtfully gave us are with us wherever we look. She once said that she was just a simple woman, but in reality, she was a simply complicated child of God. She was so loved and will be so missed.
Surviving are her daughter, Betty (Jerry) Dicks of Hartsville, SC; son, Larry Peavler of Houston, TX; granddaughter, Rachelle Peavler, Baton Rouge, LA; great-granddaughter, Olivia Peavler, Rochester, MN; special friends, Frank Crowley and Paulette Bordelon; her special cat, "Mary".
Memorials may be made to the Darlington County Humane Society, Box 1655, Hartsville, SC 29551.
