a veteran of World War I and had lived in Buncombe County for 55 years. He was a retired produce dealer.
He was survived at that time by his daughter, Helen Rice Massey of Weaverville; a son, Earl Rice of Newark, Del. Also survived by 3 sisters, Cora Lewis, Daisy Lewis, and Hester Burrell; three brothers, Clifford Rice of Gastonia, and Willie Rice & Walter Rice, both of Mt. Home, TN. Also six grandchildren and two great-grand-children.
His service was held May 4, 1972 at West Funeral Home in Weaverville, and burial followed at Ashelawn Gardens of Memory.
