In Memory of Tillman White, whose burial site in Georgia is unknown, however, could be in Richmond Co GA.

Tillman White was the son of Robert Sr & Mildred "Milly" [Whitehead] White.

He married Sarah "Sally" Rhodes, sometime after 1808. The daughter of John & Mary "Polly' [Bobo] Rhodes.

Sarah, his wife, was the sister of Lewis B Rhodes who married Tillman's sister Mary "Polly" [White] Rhodes, the daughter of Robert Sr & Milly [Whitehead] White.

No known children came from this marriage.

Tilman had the following Siblings:

Mary [Bobo] Rhodes, shortly, after the death of her husband John, returned to Union Co SC (1808), and united her daughter Sarah with Tillman White. Sarah's mother, Mary, died in Union Co in 1815, and Tillman & Sarah then moved to Georgia.

Tillman was a witness on the Deed of Thomas Betterton, in 1808, of Spartanburg Co SC. His brother Stephen White married, Thomas Betterton's daughter Nancy.

deceased, for $260 to William Bailey of Union District, tract in Union District

1808. THOMAS BETTERTON (LS), Wit: WILLIAM WHITE, TILMAN WHITE.
Proved inn Union District by oath of WILLIAM WHITE 25 Nov 1808 before Ralph
Jackson, J.P. Recorded 25 Nov 1808."

This deed was the only document, in Union Co SC, I have ever seen, that has mention of Tillman White, also on the deed as witness, was William White his oldest brother, and Ralph Jackson, also, related to the White family.

In Tillman's Nephew's letter of 1886, Isaac Murphy, writes "Tillman married Sarah Rhodes, they moved to Georgia, I hear he is dead."

There were other 'White's' in Richmond Co Ga among other counties of GA, it is possible, that Tillman did have children with Sarah, but no trace of Tillman or Sarah has every been found, to this date.

His wife Sarah's parents were John "Jack" Rhodes, and mother Mary "Polly" Bobo, they had lived in Union County SC, where all their children were born, then moved to Richmond County Georgia, where there were many Rhodes families, they were all related to each other. Their history in Richmond Co dates back to pre-revolutionary war, in the days when the Cherokee Indians, were still actively warring, to retain their lands, and way of life.
