George Victor Arnold, 74, of Iberia died Thursday morning at his home. He was born June 17, 1908, at Iberia to George W. and Isabelle Ferguson Arnold. On May 27, 1945 he was married at Perry Iowa to Doris Jean Pinnell, who survives.

Mr. Arnold served on the highway patrol from 1941 until 1945. For 28 years he was a field service representative for the Social Security Administration, retiring in 1974. In 1975 he moved back to Iberia from Waterloo, Iowa. He was a member of the Iberia Unitec Methodist Church.

Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, Michael George Arnold of Iowa City; three daughters, Jenean Arnold Wielert of Iwas City, Diane Wiesenfeld of Cedar Rapids Iowa and Beverly Carey of Lenexa, Kan.; two brothers, Claud Arnold of Lebanon and Jim Arnold of Perry, Fla.; a sister, Ruth Jones of Iberia and nine grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the church with the Rev. Charles Heidbrier officiating. Burial will be at the Iberia Cemeery.

Mr. Arnold will be in state at Stevinson-Mossman Funeral Home after 2 p.m. Friday. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
