Dorsey E. Arnold, 67, formerly of Holts Summit, died Saturday evening, April 12, 1980 at Memorial Community Hospital where he had been a patient for two weeks. He had been in ill health the last eight months.

Mr. Arnold was born April 3, 1913 at Iberia, son of George W. and Isabelle Ferguson Arnold. On March 19, 1938, he was married at Reading, Kan., to Dorothy E. Williams, who survives at the home.

A resident of the Central Missouri area most of his life, Mr. Arnold was a graduate of Iberia High School and Iberia Junior College. He was graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia with a degree in history. He joined the Missouri Highway Patrol in August 1941, and served with that organization at several locations in the state prior to his retirement in November 1968.

Other survivors include: one son, James D. Arnold, Gladstone; two daughters, Mrs. Gerry Thompson, Troy (Ohio) and Mrs. Carl Rutledge, 2217 Tanner Bridge Rd.; three brothers, George V. Arnold, Iberia, Claude F. Arnold, Lebanon, and James D. Arnold, Perry Fla.; one sister,
Mrs. Ruth Jones, Iberia; and eight grandchildren.

The funeral is scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Freeman Mortuary Chapel, Dan Dawdy will officiate with burial in Riverview Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
