Pearl Martin, 82, of Conway died Tuesday, June 30, 2009 at her residence. She was born June 13, 1927 in Conway, SC, a daughter of the late Joseph Henry and Florie Eller (Richardson) Roberts of Wampee SC.
She is predeceased by four sisters; Maybelle Coats, Eloise James, Ethel McCormick, and Thelma Hazelton; two brothers Archie Roberts and Lonnie Roberts.
Mrs. Martin was a faithful member of Conway Church of God. Sister Martin lived a full and active life; a devoted wife, a loving and tender mother.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years; Rev. Wilbur Martin of Conway; one daughter, Wanda Gordon (David) of Memphis, TN; three sons, Mike Martin (Sue) of Cochran, GA, Paul Martin of Ash, NC, and Andy Martin of Goose Creek SC; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Neomi Blevins of Ames Nebraska and Allene Singleton of Conway SC.
She will be missed greatly by those she left behind, but welcomed into the arms of God.
Funeral services will be 11am Thursday, July 2, 2009, at Conway Church Of God with Pastor Stuart Jacobs and Rev. Winn officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6pm till 8pm Wednesday, July 1, 2009 at Watson Funeral Services Chapel.
