Mrs. Blaine Final Rites On Monday

Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Ellen Coleman Blaine, wife of the inspector of buildings for the State Educational Finance Commission. Hester Blaine, were held in Jackson Monday morning. Interment in the afternoon came after final services at Fentress Baptist Church in Choctaw county.

One of her survivors is former Gov. J. P. Coleman.

Mrs. Blaine, 47, had lived in Jackson nine years after years of residence on the Gulf Coast. She was a native of Fentress, the daughter of Thomas Allen Coleman and Mrs. Jennie Essie Worrell Coleman.

Her death at St. Dominic hospital followed an illness of four months.

Mrs. Blaine was educated at Ackerman High school and at the University of Southern Mississippi. In Jackson, she was director of the Kindergarten at Ridgecrest Baptist Church, where she was an active member, as she had been at the Fentress church. Mrs. Blaine held membership in the Daughters of the American Revolution, the United Daughters of the Confederacy and the Order of the Eastern Star.

Besides her husband and her brother, Gov. Coleman, Mrs. Blaine is survived by her son, Clarence Dorman Blaine of Huntsville, Ala., a granddaughter, Margaret Melissa, also of Huntsville, her parents, two other brothers, W. D. Coleman of Jackson and Thomas B. Coleman of Pascagoula. and one sister, Mrs. Lacoy Golden of Vaughan. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Mrs. Blaine's pastor, the Rev. Fred Tarpley, led in services at the Wright and Ferguson Chapel Monday morning, assisted by Dr. W. R. Storie. The Rev. J. B. Smith conducted services at Fentress, preceding interment in Enon cemetery.

Pallbearers included Otis Brewer, Arthur Bennett, Harlan McSwain, and Rayford Dykes, all of Natchez, Melvin Cagle of Hazlehurst and Luther Meadows of Jackson.
