Mrs Noel R Raulerson passed away at her home in Bassenger Sunday afternoon at six o'clock after an illness of about three months. Mr. Amanda Elizabeth King Raulerson was born in Washington County, Georgia, June 24, 1853, and would have been eighty seven years old at her next birthday. When a girl of eleven years she moved with her family to Polk county in 1864 and made that her home until she and her husband moved to Bassenger where they have resided for many years. She became the wife of Noel Raulerson more than seventy years ago and she is survived by the husband she has lived with all these years. On March 9 of this year the family gathered at the old home place in Bassenger for a home coming and family reunion on the seventieth anniversary of their wedding which was attended by five generations of the immediate family together with many friends of that fine old couple. Besides her husband she is survived by fifteen children living. They are Will Raulerson, Mrs. Ida E Chandler, Mrs W E Arnold, Mrs J L Morgan, Mrs John Chandler, Mrs Bethel Sloan, and Keatley Raulerson, all of Okeechobee, Miss Nancy Raulerson, Ben Raulerson, Walter Raulerson, Harley Raulerson and Maurice Raulerson, of Bassenger, Wesley Raulerson, Fort Pierce, Mrs Hattie Henderson, Grant, Mrs J A Clements, Indiantown, 85 grandchildren, 78 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren, making a total of 183 members of the immediate family now living to mourn her death. The funeral services were conducted at the home in Bassenger Monday afternoon at three o'clock with Rev. H S Inabit pastor of the First Baptist Church of Okeechobee in charge. Burial was in Bassenger cemetery. The funeral services were attended by one of the largest crowds ever to attend a funeral in Bassenger. Mrs. Raulerson had been a member of the Primitive Baptist church for more than sixty nine years. The pallbearers were LaRue Chandler, Leslie Raulerson, Jetson Morgan, Ed Raulerson, Rufus Arnold and Wilford Sloan. (Re: Diane Bryan)
