Funeral Services for W C Raulerson Held in Basinger

One of Basinger's oldest citizens, Walter C Raulerson, died at the age of 74 early Saturday morning. Funeral services were held that afternoon with Rev Henry Sloan and a brother of the deceased, Maurice Raulerson, performing the graveside rites. Mr Raulerson was one of 17 children of the late Noah Raben Raulerson, a pioneer of the Basinger section, who died last year at the age of 104. Twelve of the 17 children are still living. The deceased was a farmer and had spent his entire life in his home community. He had been seriously ill for many months and his death was attributed to cancer. Survivors include his widow, Arbell; five daughters, Mrs Nancy Chandler, Mrs Catherine Thomas, Mrs Vena Thomas, Mrs Zena Arnold, all of Basinger, and Mrs Arzona Thomas of Okeechobee; two sons, Mann Raulerson, Basinger, and W C Raulerson of Cow Creek, and nine grandchildren. The eight sisters are Mrs Mittie Arnold, Mrs Minnie Morgan, Mrs Katie Chandler and Mrs Delia Sloan of Okeechobee; Mrs Callie Clements of Indiantown; Mrs Hattie Henderson of Malabar, and Miss Nancy Raulerson of Basinger. Brothers surviving are Ben and Wesley of Okeechobee; Kethley of New Smyrna, and Harley and Maurice of Basinger. Pallbearers, all nephews, were Larue, Rod and Glen Chandler, Ed and Osid Raulerson and Harley Arnold.
