Last Rites Held Tuesday for Ida R Chandler, 75

Mrs Ida Raulerson Chandler, age 75, died Saturday morning at the Lee Memorial hospital in Fort Myers after an extended illness. Although born in Basinger, Mrs. Chandler made her home in Okeechobee until seven years ago when she moved to Fort Myers. From a pioneer family in the section, Mrs Chandler was widely known, being one of the 13 children of Noel Raulerson, now in his 102nd year. Survivors, in addition to her father, six sisters and six brothers, include the following children, Mrs. Bertis Tatum and Ida May of Fort Myers, Mrs. Mellie Brantley, Eddie and Charles of Clewiston, Henry of Miami, Mrs. Billy Waldron and Harmon of Fort Lauderdale, Hugh of St. Augustine, Mrs. Bessie Albritten of Okeechobee, Mrs. Alma Patton of Fort Pierce, and Mrs. Thelma Thingster of West Palm Beach. Graveside ceremonies were conducted at the local cemetery Tuesday afternoon by the Rev. Sidney H White, Jr., of Fort Myers, assisted by Rev W C White of Okeechobee. Pallbearers were Martin Hancock, Robert Lamartin, Ray Hux, Roy Draughon, Clayton White and E M Meserve. (Re: Diane Bryan)
