W E Raulerson Passed Away Here Tuesday At Noon

Funeral services were conducted Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Primitive Baptist Church here for W E Raulerson who passed away at his home here Tuesday at 12 o'clock following a long illness. The Rev M M Martin, pastor of the Independent Baptist Church here, officiated, assisted by Rev Cranford, pastor of the First Baptist Church. Burial was in Okeechobee Cemetery. William Edgar Raulerson was born in Polk County, Florida, in 1872. He moved to Okeechobee County early in life and settled at Bassinger. He moved with his family to what is now Okeechobee in 1910 and had made his home here since. Surviving are his wife, Merida; four sons, Ocie, Edward, Chester and Leslie, all of Okeechobee; a daughter, Mrs Zora Coker, Okeechobee; father, Noel, Okeechobee, who is 99 years of age; six brothers, Ben, Walter, Harley and Morris, all of Bassinger, and K B of New Smyrna; eight sisters, Mrs Ida Chandler of Fort Myers, Mrs W E Arnold, Mrs Callie Clemments, Miss Nancy Raulerson, Mrs J L Morgan, Mrs Katie Chandler and Mrs Della Sloan, all of Okeechobee; Mrs Hattie Henderson of Malabar; and 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. The pall bearers were J L Barber, Bethel Sloan, John Chandler, Van Lightsey, Bob Lightsey and Robert LaMartin. (Re: Diane Bryan)
