Son of James Anthony and the Annie Tanner Cribb, husband of Virginia Haselden.

BRITTONS NECK - Mr. Jimmie Cribb, Jr., 87, widower of Virginia Haselden Cribb, and of Brittons Neck, passed away the early morning of Friday, February 21, 2020 surrounded by his loved ones at Senior Care of Marion in Rains.

Mr. Cribb was born February 6, 1933 in Marion County, a son of the late James Anthony “Jimmie” Cribb and the late Annie Tanner Cribb. Mr. Cribb was a US Air Force veteran. He served with the South Carolina Forestry Commission for forty-two years until his retirement. Mr. Cribb was a founding member of the Britton’s Neck/Gresham Volunteer Fire Department. He was a member of Young Farmers. He loved selling vegetables and boiled peanuts to people all over the area. He loved riding his motorcycle and being Santa’s Little Helper at Christmas. Mr. Cribb was a member of Nebo Baptist Church, where he served as Deacon and was a member of the Brotherhood. Mr. Cribb was also a member of the Gideons.

Surviving Mr. Cribb are a son, Randy Cribb of Florence; a daughter, Cindy Cribb Cantey of North Myrtle Beach; three sisters, Dorothy (Richard) Shaw of Marion, Shelvie Stone of Lake City and Ann (Willie) Barnhill of Aynor; 6 grandchildren; and 19 great grandchildren.

Mr. Cribb was predeceased by his stepmother, Bonnie Richardson Cribb and a sister, Geneva Boatwright.

Visitation for Mr. Cribb will be held one hour prior to his service, Sunday, February 23 from 2:00 until 3:00 P.M. at Nebo Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, February 23 at 3:00 p.m. in the sanctuary of Nebo Baptist Church, with Rev. Greg Black and Rev. Luford Pope officiating. Mr. Cribb will be laid to rest in the church cemetery, services will be directed by Cox-Collins Funeral Home of Mullins.
