George Anthony Kane, 73, of Rockford, Ill., passed away Monday, June 25, 2007, at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center following emergency surgery.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia; siblings, Paul (Dorothy) Kane, Joseph "Peter" (Madeline) Kane, Lucy Delzer, Grace Weisner, Leo "Sam" (Peggy) Kane, Francis (Sonja) Kane, Theresa Jelden, Christopher Kane, Catherine Roshell, Martha Richards, Patrick Kane, Theodore (Nancy) Kane; special nieces, Jane Kulberg and Linda Jacob; many other nieces and nephews; and grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

He is predeceased by his parents; siblings, Sister Rose Kane, John Kane, Mary Kane and Josephine Kane.

Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Friday, June 29, 2007, at St. Rita Catholic Church, 6254 Valley Knoll Drive, Rockford, Ill. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Road, Rockford, Ill. Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Thursday. Visitation will continue from 10 a.m. Friday until time of Mass at church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to St. Rita Catholic Church.
