Louise Fender Roberts, 85, of Foster Creek, passed away Thursday, February 26, 2015 at Madison Healthcare and Rehabilitation.

Mrs. Roberts was born June 23, 1929 in Buncombe County. Louise graduated from Mars Hill High School in 1947. She retired from Shadowline in Mars Hill. Louise was a member of Foster Creek Baptist Church where she sang in the choir, taught Sunday School and served as Secretary and Treasurer for many years. She was the youngest and last surviving child of the late Frank and Cora Fagan Fender. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Roberts; eight sisters: Ila Capps, Maggie Johnson, Vada Hamlin, Muriel Wilson, Edith Carver, Edna Crane, Rellie Peek and infant, Emmaline; six brothers: Charlie, Otis, Hushey, John, Mack and Frank Fender, Jr.

Surviving are her daughters: Lucy Roberts and Jane Lewis (David) of Mars Hill; sons: Earl Roberts of the home and Jimmy Roberts (Kathy) of Foster Creek; four granddaughters: Sharon Moser (Jeff) of Knoxville, Amy Scott (Scotty) of Charlotte, Rachel Lewis (Chris Hunt) of Charlotte, Julie Michalove (Benj) of Weaverville, Captain Coby Roberts (Chelsea) stationed at Ft. Sill, Oklahoma; three great-grandsons: Harrison and Andrew Moser of Knoxville and Cooper Scott of Charlotte; one great-granddaughter, Lily Scott of Charlotte; and lifelong friend and neighbor, Irene Peek of Foster Creek. She was "Aunt Louise" to 56 nieces and nephews and numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 1 – 3 p.m. Sunday, March 1, 2015 at Foster Creek Baptist Church.

The Funeral Service will follow at 3 p.m. at Foster Creek Baptist Church with Reverends Ken Parker, Edward Hoyle and Justin English officiating.

Burial will follow in the Holcombe Cemetery.

The family thanks the staff at Madison Health & Rehabilitation for their loving care of their mother.

At other times, the family will be at the home of David and Jane Lewis.
