Funeral Friday for
Mrs. Jake Plasier
Funeral services will be held at the Little Chapel here at 1:30 P.M. Friday, September 13, for Mrs. Jacob Plasier, 71, longtime resident of Hull community, who was found dead at her home early Tuesday.
Services will be conducted by the Reverend Nicholis Rozeboom of Hull and burial will be made in Hope Cemetery at Hull under the direction of Co-operative Funeral Service of Sioux Center.
Mrs. Plasier’s body was found by members of the family hanging in a closet in her home early Tuesday. Exact time of death was not established according to the county medical examiner, Dr. R.H. Hassebroek of Orange City.
Mrs. Plasier, nee Elizabeth Te Slaa, was born July 29, 1892, in The Netherlands, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Berend Te Slaa. She immigrated to the United States in 1911 with her parents, sisters and a brother and the family settled in Hull community. She was married in 1914 to Jacob Plasier at Hull and to this union seven children were born.
Survivors besides her husband, Jacob, include three sons, Henry of Sioux Center, Burnett of Hull and Jacob, Junior, of Rock Rapids, two daughters, Frances (Mrs. Henry Bonestroo) of Hull and Margaret (Mrs. Bill Ruisch) of Norco, California; and 15 grandchildren. Survivors also include four sisters, Mrs. Hannah Meendering, Mrs. Hattie Heyerman, Mrs. Grace Horstmanshof and Wilma Te Slaa.
