Jake Plasier Held Saturday
Funeral services for Jacob “Jake” Plasier, 75, were held Saturday at the Cooperative Funeral Home Chapel in Sioux Center. The Reverend Peter De Jong officiated. Burial was in the Hope Cemetery at Hull.
Mr. Plasier died Wednesday at the Sioux Center Hospital after a long illness.
He was born July 19 [sic], 1892 in the Netherlands and came to the United States when he was 17. He married Elizabeth Te Slaa September 18, 1914 at Hull and owned a plumbing business until ill health forced him to retire in 1965. Mrs. Plasier died September 10, 1963.
Survivors include three sons, Henry of Sioux Center, Burnett of Hull and Jake Jr. of Sioux Falls, S.D.; two daughters, Mrs. Henry Bonestroo of Hull and Mrs. William Ruisch of Anaheim, Calif.; two sisters, 15 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
