Mrs. Frances Bonestroo Oldenkamp, age 83, of Rock Valley, formerly of Hull, Hospers, Alton, and Doon, passed away on Sunday, September 27, 2009, at the Fellowship Village of West Lyon in Inwood.

There will be a memorial service on Wednesday, September 30, at 11:00am, at the First Reformed Church in Rock Valley. The Rev. Dr. Michael Hamersveld will officiate. Interment will be prior to the service at the Hope Cemetery in Hull. There will be a prayer service on Wednesday, at 9:45am, at the Oolman Funeral Home in Hull.

Visitation will be after 4:00pm on Tuesday, with the family present from 6:00pm to 8:00pm, at the funeral home.

Frances was born on December 30, 1925, in Hull, the daughter of Jacob and Elizabeth (Te Slaa) Plasier. She was raised at Hull.

On September 22, 1944, she married Henry B. Bonestroo in Sioux City. They made their home in Hull. He passed away on April 13, 1975, in Sioux Center, after thirty years of marriage.

Frances then made her home in Hospers, Alton, Doon, and Rock Valley. Besides being a homemaker, she was employed at Otis Radio in Hawarden and the OK Café in Alton. She also served as a foster grandparent at Hope Haven in Rock Valley. On April 1 of this year, she became a resident of Fellowship Village.

She was a member of the First Reformed Church in Rock Valley, where she participated in a Bible study. She also belonged to the American Legion Auxiliary.

Survivors include her five children and their spouses, fourteen grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren; and a brother of Aitkin, Minnesota.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a great-grandson; two brothers, Henry and Bernard Plasier; and a sister, Margaret Ruisch.
