Lena Fern Forbuss was born and raised in Malden, Missouri, where she met her husband to be, Ed, at the Malden Army Air Force Base during WWII. Fern and Ed were married on January 22, 1945, in Paragould, Arkansas. They later moved to the northwest and have been long-time Edmonds residents.
Fern's favorite pastimes were gardening, flowers, birds, playing cards, fishing and camping with friends and family.
Fern and Ed were founding members of the Checkerboard Squares Square Dance Club.
She loved her family and friends. Fern was a gracious hostess and a woman of integrity.
Fern is survived by her husband, Edward Tusty; her daughters, Judy (Bill) Baker, and Pam (Larry) Conover; grandchildren, Stacey (Marc) Rockov, Sandra (Randy) Farley, Diane Conover, and Jane Conover; and her great grandchildren, Jared, Drew, and Amy Farley, and Kayla Rockov.
She was preceded in death by her infant son, Edward D. Tusty, Jr.
A Graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, May 22, 2006, at Restlawn Memorial Park, 23800 - 104th Avenue West, Edmonds. A reception to follow at the Edmonds Open Bible Church, 657 Daley Street, Edmonds. Arrangements by Beck's Funeral Home, Edmonds, 425-771-1234.
