"She Gave Us Love, Not Money" by Kenny Sloan

She sometimes had to switch our legs,
but didn't tan our hides

She took us to the store,
oh what a scenic ride

She shared our life's successes
and boasted them with pride

She has to be one of the greatest
parents, teachers, mothers, and wives

She taught us discipline and hard work
with a dose of love on the side

And with that dose of love
for those she leaves behind

It makes it so much easier
for her loved ones to survive.
