Henry's family Leep moved in 1917 to his uncles and grandmother Leep in the former tiny Dutch settlement Cramersburg in the southwestern part of the Canadian southern and central province Saskatshewan. In 1920 they moved to Martin, Allegan County, in the western part of Michigan.
In 1930 Henry (16 y, Illinois), his father David Leep (43 y), his mother Fannie (41 y), his siblings Nichalos (18 y, born in Illinois), Anton Leep (14 y, Illinois), Elizabeth (11 y, Canada) and Martin (7 y, Illinois) resided in Martin, Allegan County, in the western part of Michigan, about 20 miles south of Grand Rapids. The family of his uncle Duke Leep was living there too.
In May 1940 Henry (26 y), his father and David Leep (52 y, farmer), his mother Fannie (52 y), and his sibling Martin (17 y) resided at an own farm, worth $2500, in Martin Township, Allegan County, Michigan.
