HANNAH: Mrs. Ramona Cox Turner, 79, wife of Ray Turner, died Friday, December 21, 2012 at Carolinas Hospital System, Florence.

Mrs. Turner was born August 23, 1933 in Florence County, a daughter of the late Risley Hobson Cox and Mavis Hanna Cox. She was a member of Union Baptist Church, a member of the Church Choir, the Adult Sunday School Class and Young at Heart. Mrs. Turner retired from Florence County School District 2 after 25 years in food service and as Cafeteria Manager, having worked at Hannah and Hannah-Pamplico Middle School. She loved gardening, collecting cookbooks, cooking, hunting and fishing.

Surviving are her husband, Ray Turner of Pamplico; daughter, Ellen Turner (Kenny) Poston of Pamplico; son, Raymond (Teresa Coward) Turner of Johnsonville; two sisters, Patricia "Tiny" Cox Barrineau of Lake City and Nancy "Dolly" Cox (Norman) Turner of Hartsville; grandchildren, Amy Altman (Merritt) Evans of Pamplico; Abby Foxworth Dennis of Johnsonville and Shanda Poston (John) Barringer of Richfield, NC; great-grandchildren, Nicholas Evans of Pamplico, William Dennis and Aaliyah Dennis, both of Johnsonville and Gage Barringer of Richfield, NC.

Mrs. Turner was predeceased by three brothers, Legrande Cox, William F. "Billy" Cox and Dexter Cox.

Funeral services will be at 3:00 P.M. Sunday, December 23, 2012 at Union Baptist Church. Burial, directed by Carolina Funeral Home, will follow in the Church Cemetery
