A burial will follow in Union Baptist Church Cemetery, Hannah, SC. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Nancy, known to family as Dolly, was born on October 3, 1934 in Lake City, SC to the late Risley and Mavis Hanna Cox. She graduated from Johnsonville High School and Carolina College of Commerce in Florence, SC with a diploma in Secretarial Studies.

Nancy was a devoted wife and mother. When her children were young, she stayed home with them or worked a part time job while they were in school so that she could be with them. She always put family first and if a brother or sister was sick or in the hospital, she would go to be with them. She enjoyed reading and would purchase bags of books from the local library or trade books with friends. She also enjoyed playing cards and played bridge and later other card games with her friends. For many years, a group of friends from church had a monthly supper club that they rotated around to each other's homes, and they would eat, fellowship and laugh for hours. Nancy was never happier than when she was holding or rocking a baby. If you walked in a room with a baby, you better be ready to hand it over to her.

Nancy was a dedicated member of First Baptist Church, Hartsville and attended regularly until her health started failing.

Nancy was predeceased by the love of her life, Norman Newell Turner, her husband of 64 years and 4 siblings. She is survived by her children, Michael (Pat) Turner and Rosemary (Daniel) Dixon; and one sister, Patricia Cox Barrineau. Through her children's extended families, she leaves seven grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; also numerous nieces and nephews that loved her.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to her caregivers Cathy Lawson, Kim Lawson, Wille Lou Dixon, and Amauri Newkirk for their care and compassion in her final months.
