Nellie Kroese, 87, of Hull died Wednesday, Dec. 10, at the Pleasant Acres Care Center in Hull. Funeral services were held on Saturday, Dec. 13, at 10:30 a.m., at the First Christian Reformed Church in Hull. The Rev. Carl J. Klompien officiated. Interment followed at the
Hope Cemetery at Hull.
Nellie was born July 15,1910, at Hull, the daughter of Charles Sr., and Hilda (Brouwer) Kroese. She was raised on a farm near Hull and attended the Christian School. She cared for her parents, was a clerk at the Bee Hive Store in Hull, worked at Boyden Produce, and also cleaned homes and offices. In August 1986, she became a resident of Pleasant Acres.
Nellie was a member of the First Christian Reformed Church and was active on Friendship Bible Study groups. Nellie loved sewing and gardening.
Survivors include two sisters, Evelyn Marra, and Ann and her husband, Louis, Wielenga, all of Hull; two sisters-in-law, Cynthia Kroese and LaVonne Kroese, both of Hull; and nephews and nieces.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by six brothers, Joe, John, Peter, Ivan, William and Charles, Jr. Kroese; and three sisters, Jessie Stienstra, Gertrude Van Otterloo and Wilma Miersma.
