Mrs. Catherine J. Gruner Riggin, 79, died Monday in a nursing home at 5301 E. 125th St., Grandview, where she lived. She was a lifelong Kansas City resident. Mrs. Riggin was a window shade wrapper for William Volker & Co. before she retired. She was a member of the Independence Avenue Baptist Church. She leaves a son, Gerald A. Gruner, Kansas City; a daughter, Mrs. Maxine Garrett, San Dimas, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. Margarite Williams, Kansas City; and six grandchildren. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Earp Truman Road Chapel; burial in Elmwood Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the chapel.
