Marguerite Boyd Taylor, 102, widow of Rema James Taylor, died Friday, April 22, 2016, at her home in Georgetown.

Mrs. Taylor was born October 4, 1913 in Williamsburg County, daughter of the late Thomas Lee Boyd and Bluhma Loryea Boyd. She graduated from Winthrop College and was a retired school teacher, having taught for 34 years at Johnsonville, Bishopville, and Lake City schools. Mrs. Taylor was a longtime member of Lake City United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Loulie Shaw Epps Sunday School Class and served her church in many capacities throughout the years. She was also an associate member of Duncan United Methodist Church in Georgetown while living with her daughter.

Mrs. Taylor was preceded in death by an infant daughter; brothers, Loryea Boyd, Isaac Boyd, James Boyd, Kenneth Boyd, Alton Boyd, Sr., and Dr. Herbert Boyd; sisters, Bluhma B. Mims and Willa B. Marshall.
