Mr. Boyd, was a native of Trio, SC, the son of the late Thomas Lee and Blumah Loryea Boyd.
He attended Wofford College and was a retired merchant and insurance agent. L.L., as he was known by his many friends, was active in civic affairs in Allendale where he served eight years as a trustee of the Allendale Public Schools and six years as a Allendale Town Councilman. He was a charter member of Allendale Lions Club serving as President several times, a member of Allendale Masonic Lodge #109 and a Veteran WWII.
Mr. Boyd was a member of Swallow Savannah United Methodist Church and as a member he served in many capacities including church historian and secretary/treasurer of the Methodist Men's Club.
He was the husband of the late Romie S. Boyd and survivors include two sons, Larry S. Boyd and wife Yvonne of Dublin, GA and Edward L. Boyd and wife Sally of Beaufort, SC; two sisters, Maruerite B. Taylor of Georgetown, SC and Willa B. Marshall of Charleston, SC; two brothers, Thomas Lee Boyd, Jr. of Salters, SC and Herbert Boyd of Mullins, SC; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
