James Mereweather, 81, a resident of Woodford County, died at his residence Friday morning following a long illness.
A native of Franklin County he was born July 12, 1881 son of the late Mr. and Mrs. June Mereweather. He lived and farmed most of his life in Woodford County.
Survivors include one sister, Mrs. Mattie Harrod of Frankfort; three brothers, Raymond Frankfort; Arthur of Indianapolis; and Addison of Detroit; several nieces and nephews.
The body is at Harrod Bros. Funeral Home pending completion of funeral arrangements. Friends may call after 1:30 p.m. Saturday.

Services were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Harrod Brothers Funeral Home by the Rev. Herman Marx. Burial was in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery.
