Mrs. Loretta (Speed) Howard, age 88 of Winnfield, Louisiana passed away on Sunday, January 9, 2011, at Christus St. Frances Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria, Louisiana.

Born Wednesday, March 15, 1922 in Winnfield, Louisiana, she was the daughter of the late Walter Speed and the late Orpha Lawrence Speed. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Howard, and 3 grandchildren, Marty Fischetti, Joshua Howard, and Angela Hunter.

She was a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Winnfield.

Those left to cherish her memory are sons, Clyde Howard and wife Susan of Brooklyn, NY, Kenneth E. Howard and wife Deborah of Dodson, LA and Ronald Howard and wife June of Jeffersonville, IN, daughters, Joyce Okuniewicz of Las Vegas, NV, Linda Barton and husband Charles of Winnfield, LA, Debbie Moffett of Alexandria, LA and Donna Corbett of Winnfield, LA, 20 grand children; 38 great grand children; 13 great-great grandchildren; 2 brothers; 1 sister; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Winnfield with President Justin Hardy officiating. Interment will follow in Garden Of Memories Cemetery in Winnfield with grave dedication by son, Ronald Howard.

The church elders will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, January 11, 2011 and on Wednesday from 8:00 AM until noon at Southern Funeral Home in Winnfield.
