Burle Fender Wilson born on 15 July 1906 she was 97, of the Bald Mountain Community, died Friday, Jan. 23, 2004, in Yancey Nursing Center.
A native of Yancey County, she was a daughter of the late Ambers and Martha McCurry Fender and the wife of Floyd Wilson, who died in 1961. She was also preceded in death by sisters, Harriet, Myrtle and brothers, Levi, Charlie Gaither, Kin, Chap and sons, Clifton, Boone, Ted, and Jack Wilson and grandsons, Harold Williams and Van Wilson.
Surviving are three daughters, Gladys Wilson, Maude Williams and Chloe Ramsey, both of Burnsville; a son, Ned Wilson of Burnsville; a sister, Wilma Wilson of Burnsville; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Holcombe Brothers Funeral Home. The Revs. Eugene Duyck and Dayton Lewis will officiate. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the Wilson Family Cemetery at Bald Mountain.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
