MRS. DILLINGHAM Betty C. Maney Dillingham, 83, of Barnardsville died Monday in a Henderson County hospital following a short illness. She was the wife of Fred Dillingham, who died in 1942. A native of Buncombe County, she retired form Harley Corporation. She was a daughter of the late Lucius and Margaret Bradley Maney.

Surviving are six daughters, Kay Floyd of Weaverville, Viola Robinson of Lansing, Ill., Nell Dillingham and Ann Graffio of Port Arthur, Texas, Joyce Fowler of Asheville and Sara Bloomfield of Flat Rock; four sons, Boyd Dillingham of Port Arthur, Carroll Dillingham of Algeria, Dallas Dillingham of Ridoso, N.M., and Ray Dillingham of Marshall; a sister Pansy Shepherd of Weaverville; a brother, Robert Maney of Swannanoa; 24 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and a great-great-granddaughter.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Barnardsville Baptist Church, of which she was a member. The Revs. Robert T. Parsons Jr. and Douglas P. Dillingham Sr. will officiate. Burial will be in T.S. Dillingham Cemetery in Barnardsville. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at West Funeral Home, Weaverville, where the body will remain until placed in the church an hour before the service. At other times the family will be at the home of Kay Floyd, 17 Hamburg Mounting Road, Weaverville.
