Earl W. Chrudimsky
Earl W. Chrudimsky, 84, 1913 N. 10th Ave. Wausau, died Tuesday February 9, 2010 at his home following a short illness.
Earl was born April 26, 1925 in Aniwa to the late Edward and Esther (Oestrich) Chrudimsky. He was a WWII Army Veteran. He had received several medals for his time served during the Battle of the Bulge in Belgium, the Bronze Star Medal, Purple Heart Medal, Prisoner of War Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, World War II Victory Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, and Honorable Service Lapel Button.
He was a member of the Teamster Union Local #299 and driven truck for LCL Transit until his retirement. He was a member of the VFW Post #388 and American Legion Post #10. Earl had several terms on the Board of Trustees member in the Town of Eland.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, vegetable gardening and hard work, especially logging. He loved wintering in Texas and being with grandchildren and family.
Survivors include his long time companion, Patricia Tallmadge, Wausau; daughter, Patricia Wenzel, Weston; grandchildren, Lynn (Timothy) Halambeck, Ringle and Brad Wenzel, Mosinee; great-grandchildren, Megan & Benjamin Halambeck and Andrew Wenzel; brothers, Herb (Marian) Chrudimsky, Wibaux, MT, Frank (Pat) Chrudimsky, Appleton, and Herman Chrudimsky, Antigo; sister, Fern (Lyman) O'Neil, Aniwa.
Preceded in death by parents, wife, Mildred January 2001, and brother's Floyd and Daniel, sister, Elaine Trester
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 13, 2010 at Brainard Funeral Home, 5712 Memorial Court, Weston. Rev. Raymond Connor will be officiating. Burial will be in the spring at the Union Cemetery, Aniwa. Visitation will be held from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m. on Friday and again from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service all at the funeral home.
