She was born May 12, 1934,in Lemmon, S.D., a daughter of the late Grover and Ethel (Smith) Handschke. She graduated from Birnamwood High School in 1953.

She was married to Peter Kaufman on July 31, 1953. They later divorced.

She was married to Earl W. Chrudimsky on Dec. 1, 1984, at Zion Lutheran Church in Eland.

She was employed at Marathon Electric in Wausau, owned and operated the Wheel Inn Restaurant in Wittenberg, operated Kaufman's Bar in Eland and operated a beauty salon in Birnamwood and Green Bay. She also worked at Ore-Ida Foods in Plover prior to her early retirement in 1984.

She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Eland and belonged to the St. Paul Lutheran Ladies Aid in Birnamwood for a number of years and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Elderon Memorial Post No. 8068 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars
