Mrs. Catherine Ann Schnieders, 78, died yesterday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Josephine Richter, 408 Brooks street. She has been in failing health for the past two years and critically ill for the past week.
Born in Cole county, March 4, 1870, she was a daughter of the late John Herman and Mary Prenger Hagener, both natives of Germany who emigrated to Missouri. She was married to Joseph Schnieders Oct. 5, 1897, at Wardsville. Mr. Schnieders was killed in 1900 in an accident.
She was a member of Stanislaus Catholic Church at Wardsville, where she had lived most of her life, then affiliated with St. Peter's Church here two years ago, when she moved here to live with her daughter. She also was a member of the Married Ladies Sodality at Wardsville throughout her life.
She is survived by the one daughter, Mrs. Richter; and one son, Arthur, of Wardsville; one brother, Ben Hagener, Wardsville, and eight grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday morning.
