A 78-year-old retired farmer, Bernard (Ben) John Hagner, died at his home near Jefferson City Sunday night after an illness of eight months.
Mr. Hagner was born July 18, 1873, near Jefferson City, the son of Herman and Mary Hagner. On July 25, 1912, he was married to Miss Christine Schmitz, who survives.
Other survivors are five sons, Herman, Homer, Harvey and Alfred Hagner, all of Jefferson City, and Wilbur Hagner, Waterloo, Iowa; and 14 grandchildren.
Rosary services will be said at the home at 8 p.m. today. Funeral services will be conducted at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the St. Stanislaus Church at Wardsville with burial in the parish cemetery.
