Her parents were Lee Massey Speake and Jane Henry Irvine, guardian of Sarah Catherine Speake's(SCS),1828-1897. Her (SCS) parents were Hezekiah Speake and Kitty Dulany. I believe Sarah Catherine Speake was buried in Adair County near Gradyville. She was married to John Wyatt Smith 1828-1900.

Lee Massey Speake was her guardian. Lee's daughter Sarah Speake Mckee wrote many letters to Sallie and her daughter Laura Coffey, from Colombia Kentucky, about her parents death
