I would love to be able to walk through the cemeteries to visit my family and to "meet" the others there. Since I can't physically do that, I find them here on Find A Grave. I am grateful. I love to read old newspapers and I have found very interesting things I have been able to match up to the memorials here. I hope I have helped give some honor to those whose stories I have been able to add to.

When I send an obituary or wedding announcement I have found in my daily search of the old newspapers, I am not specifically asking that these be added to the memorial. If you want to, please do, making sure to transcribe them or use them to create your own - F.A.G. doesn't want you to simply post a picture of the obit from the paper (copywrite issues). I just feel compelled to let the contributor know that there is some additional information out there, should a relative come asking. It would be a comfort to me to see the personal facts the articles and obituaries contain, were it my relative. The same for the wonderful wedding and engagement announcements I find. Such a personal glimpse into their lives. I think they would want their ancestors to know.

If you could see your ancestors
All standing in a row,
Would you be proud of them or not?
Or don’t you really know?
Some strange discoveries are made
In climbing family trees.
And some of them you, do not
Particularly please.

If you could see your ancestors
All standing in a row,
There might be some of them perhaps,
You wouldn’t care to know.
But here’s another question which
Requires a different view –
If you could meet your ancestors,
Would they be proud of you?
