Bakersville, N.C. - Barbara Clark Boyd, 72, of Jarrett Drive in Bakersville, passed away Sunday, July 26, 2009, in the Blue Ridge Regional Hospital.
A native of Mitchell County she was a daughter of the late John and Odessa Grindstaff Clark.
She was a member of Bear Creek Baptist Church and was Owner and Operator of Boyd's Seafood.
Survivors include her husband, James Fred Boyd of the home; a daughter, Debbie Silver of Bakersville; and two sons, Jimmy Boyd of Bakersville and Gary Boyd of Florence, S.C. She is also survived by two sisters, Mary Lou Andrews of Drexel, N.C. and Pat Gentry of Hildebran; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Boyd will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 29, in the Bear Creek Baptist Church, with the Rev. Chris Rathbone and Randy Horton officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 28, at Webb Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the family to help bear costs of medical expenses.
