HULL, Iowa -- Mrs. Henrietta Hoksbergen, 93, of Hull passed away on Saturday, March 18, 2006, at Sioux Valley Hospital in Sioux Falls, S.D.
Services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Protestant Reformed Church in Hull, with the Rev. Steven Key officiating. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery at Hull. Visitation will be after 4 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at the church. Arrangements are with the Oolman Funeral Home in Hull.
Henrietta was born on Sept. 6, 1912, on a farm south of Hull, the daughter of Henry and Hattie (Huitink) Te Slaa. She was raised in the Middleburg area.
On Jan. 3, 1935, she married William Hoksbergen at Hull. They farmed near Hull, where she was a homemaker. In 1972, they retired into town. "Bill" passed away on June 15, 2003, in Rock Valley, after more than 68 years of marriage.
Mrs. Hoksbergen was a member of the Protestant Reformed Church, where she was active in Ladies' Aid. Together, the couple delivered Meals on Wheels for 20 years. She enjoyed doing handwork and making quilts.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Marvin, at age nine, in 1950; an infant grandchild, five infant great-grandchildren; a brother, Gerrit H. Te Slaa; and two sisters, Dora Zylstra and Gertrude Pollema.
