HULL, Iowa -- William Hoksbergen, 96, of Hull passed away Sunday, June 15, 2003, at Hegg Memorial Hospital in Rock Valley, Iowa.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Protestant Reformed Church in Hull, with the Rev. Steven R. Key officiating. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be after 4 p.m. today, with the family present 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Oolman Funeral Home in Hull.
William "Bill" was born Oct. 19, 1906, in rural Hull, the son of John and Minnie (De Roos) Hoksbergen. He was raised in Hull.
On Jan. 3, 1935, he married Henrietta Te Slaa in Hull. They farmed in Hull until 1972, when they retired and moved into town. In March 2003, the couple became residents of Pleasant Acres Care Center in Hull.
He was a member of Protestant Reformed Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Marvin at age 9, in 1950; a infant grandchild; five infant great-grandchildren; two brothers, Henry and the Rev. John Hoksbergen; and three sisters, Pearl Kuiper, Jeanette Koele and Henrietta in infancy.
